User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Practical and Indestructable
Whether your a high-powered attourney or your average joe blow down the street, if you love your dog and your dog loves to chew, the squirrel dude is for you. Our yellow lab puppy has had this toy (large) for almost two months now and has yet to damage it in the least. She has been able to destroy dentabones, kongs, and anything made of rubber, but cannot seem to break this toy. She loves the irregular way it bounces when tossed and the little nubs hold treats inside for hours and hours of enjoyment! Very practical, fun, and tough. Excellent choice.

5 Stars Fun and Satisfying Chew Toy
In my estimation, the Premier Squirrel Dude is the best designed treat filled toy. The plastic is strong enough to withstand strong and extensive chewing and the hole which has three little teeth (that can be trimmed if necessary) keeps all kinds of kibble treats from just falling out. With other toys like this I had to resort to expensive fillers or high fat substances (like peanut butter) to keep our Jack Russell from emptying the toy too quickly.

5 Stars ‘Get your purple squirrel Jenny!’
Her favorite toy of all time. With the interesting shape, it’s the only toy she’ll chew on as well as fetch. Otherwise she just keeps throwing her toy at us until we play. She loves her purple squirrel. My girlfriend even wants me to buy her one. No, not for her dog. She just thinks its cute.

5 Stars funny! Smart~!
This is a great toy for all dogs, that are busy getting into things.

Good for brain stimulation!!

5 Stars Squirrel Dude
A most have for heavy chewers. My dog is a one-dog wrecking crew for most toys so I must be very selective about them being extremely durable.

Premier Gentle Leader Head Collar

Premier Gentle Leader Head Collar

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Kadoos for the inventor of the Gentle Leader head collar
I have leash trained many dogs at our local animal shelter, where I volunteer. I learned about the Gentle Leader head collar there, in a case of terrible cruelty, the owner had left the chain and clasp so tight around the dog’s neck that it was overgrown by her neck; surgery was required to remove it! She was such a strong puller that none of our harnesses worked, while her neck healed. Using the Gentle Leader collar was like going from night to day, it does not fit the neck but rather at the back of the head. Immediately she walked beside me with minimal pulling. Upon adopting our new dog, we discovered that outside, she was a frantic puller, after each new smell. I ordered the Gentle Leader head collar and like magic, she walks by my side. It does not interfere with panting, drinking, and I assume, biting. A gentle pull on my part reminds her when she forgets. Also, at the shelter we had success using the large size on a big German Shepherd. Three endorsements. Great product. Just be careful YOU don’t pull or jerk too hard.

2 Stars Doesn’t work
I had read a lot of good things about this head collar and what it can do to reduce pulling on walks, so I decided to get one for my 97 pound lab. He’s always been a terrific puller and we’ve never really been able to control him with just a leash and normal collar.

The head collar doesn’t work. My dog fights it horribly when he wears it, so much so that after a single walk the strap rubbed his mouth raw, and there was some bleeding. I stopped using it immediately. We’ve decided to try the Easy Walk harness (also made by Premier) instead.

3 Stars works well but not right for us
This product came very highly recommended and after careful desensitizing we were able to use them on two of our dogs. They walk nicely individually but when together pulling was a problem. It did help lessen the pulling but the number of times this tool was confused with a muzzle just broke our hearts…people saw only the straps, not the friendly well-behaved dog inside it. When you own a breed endlessly maligned in the media and largely misunderstood you find yourself doing everything you can to avoid further mistaken negativity.

Instead, we just started back at zero and re-taught proper walking with another dog just as we had when she was by herself.

The dog we continued using the headcollar with did fine but not when we tried to transition to a martingale collar when he grew out of the Gentle Leader. Without the Head Collar, all bets were off and he acted as if he didn’t know any leash manners at all! So we had to start at the beginning and retrain him to walk correctly with only his collar when with other dogs, too.

The Premier Head Collar is a highly effective tool, it just wasn’t quite right for our situations. To avoid the same negativity issues with our new youngsters but obtain the same principles of control (turning the dog when it pulls and having excellent control in excitable situations as they learn good leash manners) we used the Premier Easy Walk harness–clipped to their martingale collars for extra safety, since athletic and determined dogs can wriggle out of the harness. They have transitioned from use of the harness to just their collars as they get older with none of the problems we had trying to transition from Head Collar to martingale only. This was probably entirely our fault but others might have had the same issues, too.

5 Stars Reliable
The Gentle Leader is the solution to your dog taking YOU for a walk,

without causing your precious pet any harm. It takes your dog’s power

and it renders him/her powerless turning your difficult task into an

effortless one. Do yourself a favor and get one, it will be one of the

best decision you have ever made.

5 Stars Torn rotor cuff gives thanks to gentle leader
After having a torn rotor cuff from my VERY STRONG Golden Ret. pulling me about town (while I was training him) to walk nicely on leash, I purchased the Gentle Leader and like the majority of folks here I have a new relationship with both of my dogs. I also feel that one poster who professes to be a “dog trainer” needn’t post 11 times the very same message. This device is not cruel or dangerous to the dog, sure they need to get used to that “thing” across their nose but it isn’t hurting them. I highly recommend this product.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars everholder broom
I use this broom more outside, in gardens, flower beds, etc. It does

a good job, without hurting plant stems. Thank you – Betty

4 Stars It can be used in a very unique way!
We have hard wood floors in the entire house and only a few area rugs. My housekeeper would rather use this FURemover Broom with a towel wrapped around the end to clean the floors than a mop. The rubber bristles on the end holds the towel in place as she pushes the broom back and forth. She said it’s easier and more thorough to wash and wring out a towel than a typical mop. She uses a lighter weight bath towel and she can get into the corners. She goes over the floor using a damp, slightly soapy towel and then goes back over with a dry towel. This probably wasn’t the intended use for this broom, but it works and my floors are super clean! I wanted to edit this and give it a full 5 stars, but the “edit” section wouldn’t allow me. So, 5 STARS!!!

1 Star Completely useless on carpet
They call this thing a Fur Remover…what a joke. This thing is completely useless on carpet.

5 Stars Great product
I have owned one of these for ages and just love it. I purchased this one as a gift for someone who just had her hardwood floors refinished and was dissatisfied with brooms. She loves it as well. Great for households without pets too, as dust bunnies are not selective as to type of household.

4 Stars Continue to love this product
This is my second FURemover Broom, and it is a great product. Oddly, I don’t use it for pet fur, I use it to save my vacuum cleaner from my OWN long hair. I run this broom over the carpet in my apt. before vacuuming, and the rubber pulls up all of the hair I shed so as not to tangle up the roller in my vacuum. I’ve also used this product on brand new carpet, which often sheds in the beginning, and it’s very helpful.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars It’s great if you have no other alternative
I’m not surprised there are so many poor reviews for this product and I wasn’t going to buy it because of them…but I’m glad I did. My puggle is terrified of getting her nails clipped. She squirms and squeals and will even attack us if we persist. Not fun. I really needed another way to do her claws and was told by another puggle owner than he uses Pedipaws. I figured it was worth a try. I bought mine from Canadian Tire ($19.00) so I could return it and get a refund in case it didn’t work.

At 1st she was scared of the sound and wouldn’t let us near her. We got her used to it over a few days and then my BF held her while I filed a few of her claws. It actually worked! It’s slow going and if you press too hard the wheel will stop turning but if you’re patient you can actually file the nails down quite nicely. It’s going to take a few days to get all her nails done but since the alternative is either not clipping her nails at all or sedating and muzzling her…I’ll take the Pedipaws!

I’m only giving it 3 out of 5 because of the noise and the time needed to do the whole job.

1 Star Pedipaws please think twice
I’ve locally purchased this item twice and I’ve had enough. My first Pedipaws died for no apparent reason and the last one doesn’t sound healthy at all. My first Pedipaw was purchased less then a year, so it’s failure isn’t from over use. I purchased my last Pedipaw two weeks ago!

My dog (a Jack Russell) has gotten used to it and, when I catch her, will allow her nails to be done. The problem for me is, will it work. If it does, the strength of this product leaves much to be desired. The opening for the nail is small and leaves her dew claws sharper then when I started. I’m presently looking into an electric nail grinder with a more powerful motor and will be dependable.

This product is affordably priced, but that’s it. It’s not worth the money you’ll have to put into it. I’ve learned my lesson, you get what you pay for.

1 Star Booooo!
I have a dog that doesn’t like getting clipped. He’s deathly afraid of this thing, I have better success with the clipper. This is not very quiet either. My cats sit and get their claws clipped easily. They don’t like this. Finally after a few months I found I can lightly sand spots in the drywall out with the wheel, that’s the best use I’ve found with it.

1 Star What a piece of junk.
In theory this product should work great. But the automatic stop on the filing head is to senitive. The slighest pressure against the head and it stopped. A waste of money.

5 Stars A wonderful device according to our two Yorkies (well one is a yorkie-poo)!!
Our two dogs absolutely loathe getting their deals trimmed so we took the gamble and bought one of these despite the negative reviews. I was concerned with the noise as my dogs generally hate motor sounds – as a matter of fact our oldest dog’s arch nemesis is our Dyson vacuum.

To my pleasant surprise this device has been a miracle for our family. Neither of our small dogs (one is 8 pounds, the other 10 pounds) are bothered at all by the noise (which is much quieter than I had anticipated after reading comments from others) and both seem unbothered by the process. My wife has been filing their nails weekly since we purchased this (about 2 months ago) and the batteries and motor have shown no signs of slowing down. We haven’t replaced the first pad yet, but will likely need to do so prior to the next usage. My wife is able to trim both dogs nails in less than 3 minutes start-to-finish and the whole household is happier as a result.

In conclusion I’d recommend this to anyone with small dogs, but can’t explicitly state how it would work with larger dogs. As always, your mileage may vary.

Lentek 6 Day Automatic Pet Dish

Lentek 6 Day Automatic Pet Dish

A week-long business trip or tropical vacation doesn’t mean you have to hire an expensive pet sitter for your cat or take him to the kennel. This six-day automatic pet dish ensures that your favorite feline will be given six meals while you’re gone and will enjoy staying home alone. Each of the dish’s six food compartments holds 2/3 cup of dry food or 5-1/2 ounces of wet food. You can select feeding intervals of 6, 12, or 24 hours and the dish will accurately open to a new food-filled compartment within 15 seconds of the time you have programmed. As a safety precaution, the lid won’t rotate if it meets some resistance. The removable lid and inserts are made of durable ABS plastic so they’re easy to clean. This automatic pet dish operates on one 9-volt battery (not included) and is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. –Cristina Vaamonde

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great product.
I have no problems with this product at all. It is simple and works like it says. I would not use it as a permanent feeder, but for out of town trips, which I do a lot, it works awesome.

5 Stars Happy in MN
This has saved so many headaches no more cat whining in the morning, fill it once a week and your good to go. great value I saw an 8 day feeder same style and it was over $100 at Petco

5 Stars Would purchase again
This product works very well with my older Beagle. The time settings are great and now she always eats on time, which is very important to a beagle.

The food compartments are small, but it works very well to give her a couple of small meals each day. We haven’t had any trouble with her trying to tear the cover off to get to the food.

3 Stars My puppy broke into it!
I purchased this for my puppy and she broke into it in about 3 days. She scratched at the top and got the whole lid off!! Otherwise this feeder isn’t bad if you have an animal who isn’t determined to eat all the food in the feeder at once. I was disappointed as I thought it would have some sort of locking mechanism on the lid so it didn’t come up so easily. Maybe they need to figure out a way to lock the battery mechanism to the lid!

4 Stars Nice little feeder
After reading all the reviews (thx everybody), I decided to get this.

I have a small schnauzer/terrier; he’s only 17 lbs. and we occ. go away on wkends. I was a bit skeptical; seems many people have said their cats can pry off the lid. You guys must have some might hefty, strong cats. *I* had trouble getting the lid off to fill this thing :-)

I’ve been testing it; seems to work right on schedule. You do have to watch the time when you power up tho.

I gave it a 4, instead of a 5, because I wish you could set a specific time; but those types of feeders are very expensive. So, I’ll deal with this.

I’m pleased so far. I’m wondering, does anyone know how long the battery would last; if only used on the wkends? A few months? Just one wkend? And do you know in advance what this dish does when the battery will fail soon? I don’t want my little Oscar going hungry.

thx!
