THE PROBLEM: Mobile telephone displays scratch very easily and thus appear shabby and unsightly. Only a few manufacturers offer replacement displays and even then the exchange is usually very costly. THE SOLUTION: DISPLEX offers a simple solution for this widespread customer problem. With this new type of special polishing paste, end users have for the first time the possibility of eliminating the scratches in their mobile phone displays quickly and cost effectively in a do-it-yourself process THE USE: Apply some DISPLEX to the mobile phone display. Polish the scratched areas with heavy pressure for 2-3 minutes with a soft, clean cotton cloth. Repeat application as necessary for deep scratches. Remove residue Attention: do not polish coated surfaces; treat the transparent part of the display lens exclusively. Contents of tube of 5g is sufficient for approx. 8-10 applications. HOW IT WORKS: The plastic lens is lightly dissolved and polished with fine abrasive particles. The corners of the scratch traces are rounded off and the fissure bottom filled out with the material of the lens itself.

5 Stars Wonderful for even the nintendo ds!
I bought this product because i have had a lot of scratches on my nintendo ds touch screen, and it was starting to look pretty ugly so i bought this hoping and praying that it would work. it finally came and i tore open the package and started to get to work. the first time i did it wrong (not enough displex lotion, scrubbed too fast) and it got rid of only some scratches and made a couple more deep ones. i tried it a few more times and i put more of it on, and scrubbed slower, and it took almost all of the scratched out and didnt make a single new one. so, a word of advice : if all else fails, actually read the directions!!!! over all this product was perfect but i used up like half the tube just to make up for my previous mistakes. would highly reccomend it for anyone with a nintendo ds. hope my review helped
2 Stars Did no harm
I was unsure about the product from the wide disparity in reviews, but since there appears to be no alternative, I tried it on an LG Decoy phone. The good news was that, despite warnings from others, there was no negative consequences–no pitting, rainbow sheen or other problems created by the product.
It did take out some minor scratches but all the noticable scratches are still there. They are definately smoothed out to the touch, but readily visible.
3 Stars Be Adventurous, Just Not Hopeful
I couldn’t even tell you how I did it, but I scratched the facing on my phone a couple weeks ago, and I’d only had it for about a month. I have a habit of obsessing over the condition of my most prized possessions, so of course, I had to search for a product that could remove the scratch. I came upon this and decided to give it a try.
I think the most intelligent thing you could do when faced with purchasing something you know nothing about is to look at the price. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. For $12 and change, including shipping and handling, I had to see if Displex was worth the hype and though I don’t consider it a ripoff, I came out mildly disappointed.
The biggest problem with the scratch on my phone (an LG env2) was that it was half on the screen, have on a coated area. Judging from the other reviews, I was going to take my chances and ignore the warnings about polishing in coated areas because the phone just desperately needed a tuneup. Fact is, this product doesn’t remove scratches, so to speak. It merely smooths out the surface the scratch is on. My scratch grew into more of a groove than anything else (something I could live with) but it’s still more than visible with the naked eye. I’m not going to say it made it worse, but it didn’t make it any better.
Also, don’t by any means use on a coated area. I took my chances and it removed a little of the finish on my phone. Yes, it sucks, but someone has to be the first penguin to jump in the water, right?
I tried this on an old phone I don’t use anymore, the facing of an iPod, and my current phone. This is the gist of what I’ve learned:
- You’re flat out not going to remove deep scratches with this product. Small scratches may seem less visible after several minutes of work, but they won’t disappear completely.
I know a lot of people have been raving about the product and I wish I could say the same, but maybe I just have higher standards. Or maybe it just didn’t do for me what it did for others. But I’ll tell you two things I’m sure of: a) I didn’t use the product wrong. I followed the directions word-for-word and b) I put the time into it. So it’s not like I could’ve tried harder.
For $7, it’s worth a try, but just be aware that you get your money’s worth. If this was a true miracle product for the dirtiest of scratch jobs, it’d cost a hell of a lot more money.
5 Stars This Product Actually Works!
Like an idiot, I walked around with my brand new BlackBerry in the same pocket as my keys. When I checked my emails the next morning, I realized the screen had several deep scratches and a couple of areas where the keys had rubbed the screen so much that text was not visible behind the scratches. I started looking on-line for a solution and found this product. I was skeptical that it would actually work on the scratches because there were so many and a few were quite large. Nonetheless, I tried the product on a small area and after a couple of minutes, the treated screen was as new. I worked on the larger scratches and they, too, disappeared after a few minutes. You do have to apply a good amount of the product for it to work, and you also have to rub quite hard. The results when finished are very close to a brand new looking screen. As I mentioned, it worked on deep scratches as well as areas with a great number of light scratches that obscured the screen. So nice to find a product that actually works on this problem.
1 Star DOESNT WORK
Have to say that it didnt work for me, it didnt even work on the superficial scratches. Very sad to say I lost my money
